Due to its outstanding performance in safety, environmental protection and community relations, it was rated as "Jiangsu environmental friendly enterprise" and "national environmental friendly enterprise" in 2005 and 2006 respectively. In Zhangjiagang production base, Dow has adopted a number of advanced pollution control processes and prevention technologies to reduce waste production from the source and improve resource utilization. The comprehensive energy consumption and water consumption per unit product of the enterprise have reached the advanced level of international peers. Another highlight of the report is that Dow has established partnerships with all levels of society to promote the sustainable development of industries, technologies and products. For example, Dow and the State Environmental Protection Administration have launched a four-year national demonstration project to promote cleaner production for small and medium-sized enterprises in the chemical, papermaking, electroplating, printing and dyeing, pharmaceutical and brewing industries.
